Last Night’s Prayer Service

The prayer service last night was amazing. There wasn’t an overwhelming presence in the room, but a still knowing that God was there. Prayers were said, and God listened. In the end, we were also able to praise God for an answered prayer from the week before.

Good stuff.

If you’re not coming to the prayer services, then you’re missing out. It isn’t a super-spiritual service or one where we judge another for the way or length of their prayers. It is an accepting environment.

Come out! You’ll enjoy it.

Yesterday was a big day

Yesterday was a day of celebration for us. We were honored to be able to appoint and officially recognize our new pastors, Paul and Suzie Garrett. Pastors Paul and Suzie and their son, Tyler, have been with us for the past couple years, and I think God knew they would be the leaders to take us into the next chapter of Life-Givers.

It was also amazing to see the reactions of those who were there to welcome them into their new positions.

Like I said yesterday, thank you, Life-Givers, for proving your faith in these trying times. Earlier in the year it seemed like we were going to fail and have to close our doors as a church, but God proved faithful and so did you. Our hard times aren’t over, but we are moving on and moving up.

You’ve made me proud to be one of your leaders, and it is a honor to be able to share the Kingdom of God with you.

God bless,

Pastor Dewaine

Shout Outs

The Breakout Youth Revival was a smash hit.  I extremely enjoyed myself, and I know that lives were changed in many, many ways.  Also, this is a big win for our church, and a huge push of forward momentum with getting past our past and moving forward.

But this revival wouldn’t have been a hit without the hard work of everyone who volunteered, and I want to give some shout outs:

  • Greeters: Stephenie, Monique, Nuishia, Melissa M., and Janice. You were probably overlooked with your roles, but you were extremely important.  You are the first Life-Givers that people encounter when coming to our church, and your smiles were necessary.
  • Parking Lot Staff: Kevin H., Phil, Melissa E., Cuny (sp?), and Sam. There weren’t as many cars as I was hoping, but you still helped and did so without complaining.  Thank you so much.
  • Cooks: Cindy C., Tabitha, and Cindy W. Wow!  Just wow!  Your cooking was great.  So much so that I have plenty of leftovers in my fridge (although I didn’t ask for them to be there).
  • Media: Kevin M. and Peggy. You guys rocked it.  Never once did you complain when I put so much pressure on you.  This even wouldn’t have been anything without your help and devotion.
  • Speakers: Paul and Bridgett. I loved your excitement, and fed off of it.

I am truly sorry if I missed someone.

Propel

Last Sunday, I was able to share some personal thoughts about what I believe that God is doing at our church and in every person who is a part of Life-Givers Ministries.  And I still stand by those thoughts.

The main part is the word propel.  God gave me this word at the end of 2010 as part of his vision for 2011.  This word is associated with the larger idea of a propulsion system of a rocket, which drives the rocket toward a specific pinpoint destination.  That is what God is doing with us.  He has destined us to be a part of his Kingdom and to play an important role for which He is preparing us.

Please be patient, and let God do His amazing work.  He’s fueling us right now.  Getting us ready for flight.  At the right time, our ignition system will be lit, and we’ll fly through the “air” toward the destined purpose God has for us.

For a video of the end of the service last week with these thoughts check out my blog.
