About
Our Story
The vision for Life-Givers was birthed and shared in the home of Reverend Jason Wilson, our founding pastor. LGM was to become a strong mothering church where the positive message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ could be spoken. The belief was that we alone possessed no power to change a person but the message and power of Jesus Christ contained the power to change anybody.
On March 5, 2006 LGM held its first service at St. John’s Christian Academy. In October of that same year, we were united with the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC). Easter 2008, LGM moved into the Berkeley Middle School Media Center. Currently Life-Givers resides at 808 Whitesville Rd.
Our Mission
This is the purpose of Life-Givers Ministries…
- …to plant the good seed of God’s Word into the lives we come in contact with,
- …to grow others into faithful Christ followers, and
- …to produce good works that demonstrate our faith in Jesus Christ.
Our Values
We hold the following 12 values for how we will live and conduct ourselves:
We will strive for excellence.
We may not have the best of everything, but we will strive to do our best with what we have inside and outside the church. Eph. 6:5-7, Col. 3:17, 23-24, 1 Cor. 14:12
We will demonstrate our passion.
A radical transformation prompts a radical demonstration and our love for Christ will show through our passionate response to Christ’s love as we work to grow God’s Kingdom. Romans 5:8, 12:11, Mat. 22:37
We will be relational in our approach.
Authenticity will gain the trust of another. For our ministry to succeed we must build relationships out of genuine love, not out of obligation, nor for numerical growth or personal gain. 1 John 4:19-21, 1 Cor. 13:5, Romans 15:7
We will stay unified.
United we stand; divided we fall. For ministry to be effective we have to be in one accord. We must think the same thing and speak the same thing. 1 Cor. 1:10, Psalm 133:1, Eph. 4:3, John 17:23
We will practice forgiveness by forgiving.
We all have been given something from God we didn’t deserve and this is forgiveness. Our duties as Christ followers is to act out this example by forgiving those who have wronged us even if we desire not to. Col. 3:13, Eph. 4:12, Mat. 6:14, Luke 23:24
We will aim to be relevant.
While the message of the Gospel never changes, the culture does; therefore, we will strive to adapt in our presentation without devaluing or stripping the Gospel of its power. Mark 4:2, 5:41, Mat. 13:10-12, 1 Cor. 9:19-23
We will think outside the box.
God does not live in a box so we won’t keep Him in one. We believe He can do exceedingly, abundantly, more than we can think or imagine. Heb. 11:1, Eph. 3:20, Acts 1:8, 2:6-8
We will live inside our box.
While God isn’t confined or limited we are. Therefore, we will stay within our gifting and talents as God grows us into our callings. 1 Cor. 12:4-12, 1 Peter 2:2, 4:10, Eph. 4:15, Php. 3:14
We will serve with humility.
Serving may appear to be weak and small, but in the Kingdom of God it is the highest of honor and respect. Proverbs 11:2, Titus 3:1-2, Php. 2:3-5, 1 Tim. 3:13, Luke 14:11
We will speak life and not death.
The Bible says that life or death is in the tongue. As Life-Givers we will speak the life-changing hope that comes from the Word of God, not only in church but in our everyday lives. Proverbs 18:12, James 2:12, 3-10, Psalm 19:14
We will offer grace, not condemnation.
Jesus didn’t come to condemn, but to save. By following Christ’s example we will plant seeds that promote an inward transformation. John 3:17, Romans 8:1, 11:5-6, Eph. 2:8
We will accept all people.
If the Gospel is for one, then it is for all. For God so loved the world He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes will have eternal life. John 3:16, 13:20, Acts 10:34-35, Romans 14:1
“When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild.” Proverbs 29:18
